I hope this newsletter finds everyone doing well.   Things in the Real Estate world are still moving along with more properties hitting the market every day.  Another great sign is that things are feeling stable; even rates are stabilizing and organically going down and becoming more manageable.                                                                                                                    The Community Partner Grants are available now. This benefits First Responders, Teachers, Nurses, and Law Enforcement (Note: this can apply toward the food chain within these categories).  Not all lenders offer this FHLB Grant, but I can give you recommendations for who does.

Virginia Housing offers grants and monies toward closing costs and down payment assistance (the VHDA and VHDA Plus), you can also stack this with other monies you may be getting.  Learn more here.

How to save  a bird (windows) and abode richmond design!

THE VMFA AND ABODE DESIGN WITH MARIE FEDOWITZ

Marie Fedowitz's arrival back to Richmond, Va is a blessing. Forward thinking, trend setting, and timeless design sensibilities make Abode Richmond stand out.  In her words, "The world through my eyes is romantic and dark with blurred lines. This is my design philosophy."

Abode Richmond recently designed and updated the new VMFA FLORIS TEA ROOM, which is featured this month in R HOME Magazine.  I cannot wait to go here and experience tea in this historic building.

ABODE RICHMOND is located at 3408 W Leigh St. If you or someone you know needs to shed the old, and welcome the new, please reach out to her for a consult and visit her salon,  you will be very happy you did.

BIRDS HITTING WINDOWS ARE NO FUN!

There was one home I showed with two birds outside of it, and there was this scraggly and very skinny male trying to fly through the glass; over and over.  His mate was watching this. It broke my heart, so I called the agent to alert her and see if maybe the seller could put some bird deterrent appliques on the sliding glass door.   So many birds die an untimely and decidedly unpleasant death due to our windows, especially the beautiful bay windows and patio doors ( putting feeders on on windows is also a big no-no).  There are lovely and creative ways to prevent this. Please consider this.  I thank you, and the animal kingdom thanks you as well!!! (Side note: In regards to Bug Zappers, they kill all the insects species rely on to thrive).
